A little bit about Mick Hood
I was born and raised in Newcastle in the north east of England and after leaving school in 1982 I spent my first 6 months of adulthood working in a local garage on a YTS scheme before spotting an opportunity to take up a position as a plasterers labourer with J.P Norman a local building firm. You could say this was the start of my current journey as after 6 months of labouring I was offered an apprenticeship.
I served my time with J.P Norman before spending another 4 years as a time served plasterer with Hamilton construction and Able Construction.
In 1996 I came to the conclusion that I could be my own boss, and after a little investigation it seemed that the idea was feasible and consequently Mick Hood the man became Mick Hood Plastering. The early years was not plain sailing and involved having to turn my hand to helping many other trades even having to labour again when times were tough, however over the years I became a sponge, absorbing all the various trades and standards involved in the Building industry
Much water has flowed under the bridge since those early days and Mick Hood the company has grown to also encompass many other services (see building services page) including becoming a member of the Federation of Master Builders (5 years). I can run projects from start to finish including the reading of detailed plans and as a customer you can rest assured that my standards of work are second to none resulting in many very satisfied customers.
